Drugs and Health Alliance

The Drugs and Health Alliance (DHA) is a group of organisations and individuals who support an evidence-based, public health-led approach to dealing with illegal drugs.

The Alliance is a user led organisation which provides advocacy, training and helpline services to those currently in drug treatment, those who have accessed drug treatment in the past and those who may access drug treatment in the future.

Hamoaze House is a day service provider for the individuals and families who are affected by substance misuse. We offer evidence based approaches in supporting our Service Users, working very closely with and informed by Public Health through our local Drug and Alcohol Action Team.

HIT

HIT
HIT, formerly the Mersey Drug Training and Information Centre was established in 1985 to reduce drug-related harm and set up one of the UK's first syringe exchange schemes. The organisation has an international reputation for developing, advocating and implementing a pragmatic and effective approach to the use of drugs.

IHRA Internation Harm Reduction Association
The Internation Harm Reduction Association (IHRA) is the leading organisation in promoting evidence based harm reduction policies and practices on a global basis for all psychoactive substances (including illicit drugs, tobacco and alcohol).
Kaleidoscope Kaleidoscope Project
Kaleidoscope is a church sponsored project that provides holistic support to people on the margins of society. It aims to promote social inclusion and make innovative contributions to the well being of the whole community. Respect and hospitality are the cornerstones of all the project's services.
The International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS
The International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ICW) is the only international network run for and by HIV positive women. ICW was founded in response to the desperate lack of support, information and services available to women living with HIV worldwide and the need for these women to have influence and input on policy development.

PALAD Parents Against Lethal Addictive Drugs (PALAD)
PALAD campaigns for an end to drug discrimination, the unequal treatment of those involved with equally harmful drugs. Drug discrimination results in the under-regulation of legal drugs and the over-regulation of illegal drugs with legal drug users denied equal protection and illegal drug users denied equal rights to informed choice.

The Public Health Development Unit is part of the Primary Care Trust and is responsible for the promotion and protection of the public's health in Plymouth.
Release Release

Street Talk Substance Misuse Services is a non profit voluntary organization dedicated to work mainly with groups marginalized in society, typically individuals with low economic status, sometimes homeless and or suffering from chemical dependency and substance misuse issues.
SMMGP Substance Misuse Management in General Practice (SMMGP)
SMMGP aims to promote the provision of effective care for drug users by developing, supporting and encouraging the role of general practitioners (GPs) and other primary care workers to work with problem drug users.

UKHRA UK Harm Reduction Alliance (UKHRA)
The UKHRA is a campaigning coalition of drug users, health and social care workers, criminal justice workers and educationalists that aims to put public health and human rights at the centre of drug treatment and service provision for drug users.
UKPHA UK Public Health Association (UKPHA)
The UKPHA seeks to promote the development of healthy public policy at all levels of government and across all sectors.  It acts as an information platform and aim to support those working in public health both professionally and in a voluntary capacity.

David McCoy is currently a specialist registrar in public health, and a member of the Health Care Evaluation Group in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health.
